The City Center Parking

Coreslab Structures (OKLA) Inc. overcame challenges in both design and construction during the production and erection of this downtown Oklahoma City project. The site chosen for the project already had a two level parking facility on it. The southern half was occupied by a cast-in-place post-tensioned garage and the northern half was occupied by a steel and concrete garage. Both structures were old and obsolete. After much study and discussion it was decided to demolish the steel garage to allow for construction of new facilities to provide 1778 parking spaces.
Ornate architectural load bearing wall panels provided visually attractive enhancements to the area, while providing lateral resistance to moderate level seismic forces for both the current project and a future five story structure. Long span prestressed precast concrete pieces provided the headroom required to deal with existing foundation systems and match the first elevated level.
