Coreslab Structures (Ariz) Inc. has recently been acknowledged for our contribution to the ASU - Interdisciplinary Science & Technology Building One project located in Tempe, Arizona.
During the pre-construction phase of the project, Gilbane Building Company, the CM at Risk credited Coreslab as being largely responsible for making the project a reality. There was a budget crisis and through value engineering, Coreslab helped save the project just over $1,000,000 by working with the Architect and Engineer to change an architectural cast-in-place concrete mass wall to a precast mass wall. In addition, the mass wall had to be designed to include one of the building's key architectural features, a cantilevered end to the building, which utilized horizontally stacked precast wall panels "stitched together" structurally, to complete the framed tube section.
