Almost three years ago, a local Architect and Construction Manager made a trip to Coreslab Structures (ARK) Inc. to inspect precast wall panels in inventory and to discuss our ability to fabricate the wall panels for this high profile project near Little Rock. After assessing our capabilities, they made the decision to design the building exterior with precast wall panels manufactured at the Coreslab Plant in Conway, Arkansas. Our native gray aggregate was selected as the color of choice for the exposed aggregate panels because it suited the natural environment around the ADEM project location.
The wall panels were matched to the architect's original rendering for the project. Modifications were made by our drafting department and approved by the architect as the job submittal drawings were developed. At the same time, our precast design engineer was analyzing the connections and precast component design for an F-4 Design Category (Tornado Shelter) for the Emergency Operations Center, which can never close or shut down due to any disaster.
By working together diligently with our clients to maintain quality and schedule requirements, the contractor, Nabholz Construction was able to construct an award winning office building with very demanding design criteria.
