SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California is a state-of-the-art facility that boasts some of the most cutting-edge technology in the sports world. The stadium, which was completed in 2020, is the home of the Los Angeles Rams and Chargers and is one of the most expensive facilities ever built. The stadium has a seating capacity of 70,240, making it the largest stadium in the NFL, and the first ever to have two retractable roofs.
The stadium features a unique 360-degree video board that is the largest in the NFL, as well as over 2,500 HD TVs located throughout the stadium. Additionally, the stadium is equipped with a variety of luxury amenities, including 250 suites, 9,000 club seats, and 50,000 square feet of retail space. SoFi Stadium also features a 6,000-seat outdoor amphitheater for live music, as well as a performance venue for e-sports tournaments.
Built on a 298-acre site, the massive sports and entertainment complex required 13,500 cubic yards of precast concrete, 2,375 tub and riser pieces, 368 vomitory walls, and up to 400 ADA, camera platforms (floor slabs) to construct. The lightweight concrete products used for the YouTube Theater also added to the complexity of the project. The installation process was made seamless thanks to the strength and flexibility of precast concrete. Up to four installation teams worked simultaneously to bring the vision to life, and the project was completed in record time. By choosing precast concrete, the team was able to save time and money, while creating an awe-inspiring structure.
