Precast concrete offers many advantages when it comes to the construction of a warehouse and office space. Streck Laboratories’ project is a perfect example of this.
The use of precast concrete insulated wall panels allowed for rapid installation of the warehouse and office space, helping to complete the project before winter set in. The insulated walls also provided superior insulation for the structure, keeping the building comfortable year-round. The walls were given a white concrete finish and treated with a light sandblast finish, along with an exposed aggregate banding, giving the structure a unique and attractive look. The panels were also 12 feet wide and 46 feet tall, with punched openings and a unique triangular wing wall, providing the structure with added stability and strength.
Overall, precast concrete was chosen for its speed of erection which proved to be especially beneficial because the precast concrete was erected during the winter of 2020.
