The New Walmart Headquarters Campus – Bentonville, AR

Project Overview

Walmart’s new 355-acre Headquarters campus incorporates the use of pre-stressed/precast concrete for their 10-multi-use parking decks. To ensure the success of this project, Coreslab Structures (OKLA) Inc. was selected and brought on-board as part of the Design Team. Coreslab has earned a strong reputation for innovation, environmentally sound concrete products, and customer service, making them the ideal partner in helping Walmart meet their sustainability, durability, resiliency, and efficiency goals. Additionally, Walmart’s economic approach mirrors their identity as ‘Save Money Live Better’ and Coreslab had the expertise to make this a reality.

Coreslab’s role in the project was to provide cost estimates at the design phase by providing value engineering alternatives that did not have to be applied to the bid documents, thus saving time and accelerating the project schedule. Additionally, the use of precast common components allowed for less time spent in drafting and engineering which would have been necessary to coordinate requests for information. This ultimately helped to push the project schedule forward with project completion estimated for September 2023.

Precast Benefits

The precast benefits provided by Coreslab Structures (OKLA) Inc for the New Walmart Headquarters campus parking decks project are numerous. Precast concrete offers a host of advantages that are essential for a project of this scale and complexity: durability, sustainability, resiliency and efficiency. Precast concrete is a highly durable material, with a long service life that can withstand the elements, making it an ideal choice for this multi-use parking deck. Precast concrete also offers environmental benefits, with a low carbon footprint and recyclable materials.
