Coreslab Structures is a leading provider of precast and prestressed concrete solutions for a wide range of projects, including parking garages, multi-family housing, and other total precast solutions. We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Project Engineer to join our growing Miami team.
Position summary
The Project Engineer will apply sound engineering principles to the structural design and analysis of precast concrete projects. This role involves coordinating with internal teams and external consultants to ensure designs are accurate, efficient, and meet project specifications. The Project Engineer will also support various phases of the project, from design and detailing to production and erection.
Key responsibilities
- Design and Analysis: Perform structural design and analysis of precast and prestressed concrete members and connections.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate with drafters, project managers, sales, and external architects and engineers to ensure project requirements are met.
- Document Control: Review and manage project documents, including shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals, to ensure conformance with design intent.
- Production Support: Act as a technical resource for the production department, addressing any questions or issues that arise during manufacturing.
- Inspection and Quality Control: Perform field inspections during the erection phase of projects to ensure installation is completed correctly.
- Problem-Solving: Design concrete repairs or other remedial actions as needed for damaged structures.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience, with experience in the precast/prestressed concrete industry strongly preferred.
- Licensure: Successful completion of the professional engineering exam (FE/EIT) with the ability to obtain a PE license in Florida.
- Skills:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting contract documents, shop drawings, and specifications.
- Knowledgeable of relevant building codes and design standards (e.g., FBC, ACI 318, PCI).
- Familiarity with structural engineering software. Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
