Job Description
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for plant safety operations. This person should have a working knowledge of OSHA’s 29 CFR 1910 General Industry standards. He must possess the ability to enforce Coreslab Structures safety rules, as well as advocate safety culture. Assisting the Safety Director with plant safety presence is the primary responsibility of the Safety Coordinator.
Duties
- Report to Coreslab Safety Director and Management.
- Conduct safety meetings with all departments
- Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure they follow OSHA Standards
- Work with Safety Director to abate hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions and equipment
- Demonstrate the correct use of machine guarding, tools, and all safety equipment
- Investigate incidents and accidents to identify root cause and plan prevention
- Submit weekly safety reports to Safety Director
- Inspection of fire equipment
- Uphold strict safety environment and safety goal of zero accidents.
- Adhere to and support Coreslab Structures Safety requirements as appropriate.
- Demonstrate safety awareness by example and attitude and instill safety mindedness in workers.
- Responsible to conduct training classes including: new hire safety orientation, ladder safety, Hazard Communication, Lock out/Tag out Procedure, Respiratory Protection & Respirable Crystalline Silica, fall protection, CPR/First-Aid, PPE, and all equipment operator classes.
- Recognize and correct job hazards and unsafe acts.
- Write reports and conduct investigations of near misses, incidents, and accidents.
- Conduct quarterly safety audits of all departments in the plant
- Take care of all aspects of injuries.
