Florida International University’s Parking Garage Five Market Station is an exciting new development on the Main Campus. This seven-level structure offers a 732,000-square-foot garage with over 2,000 spaces, 30,000 square feet of retail and classroom space, and a 12,500-square-foot university police department complex. This project is designed to be both a major campus entrance and a social hub for the university community, providing students with a place to eat, socialize, and shop.
The use of precast for cost efficiency, speed of construction, and to minimize the disruption of the surrounding active campus was a key element of the project. Precast columns, spandrels, double tees, beams, wall panels, eyebrows, and architectural cladding are all incorporated into the design. The centerpiece of the building is a large rotunda, designed to be an aesthetically-pleasing, multi-functional space.
The Parking Garage Five Market Station is an innovative and modern project, designed to provide the Florida International University community with an accessible and welcoming place to enjoy. The retail component is designed with flexibility in mind, allowing for creative business modeling and marketability.
This project is sure to become a landmark for the university and a vibrant social space for years to come.
