The Sawgrass Mills Mall Garage is an impressive open-air parking structure with plenty of space and convenience for customers. The project was a design-build with numerous requirements from the local municipality, mall operations, the developer, and customers.
The exterior of the structure was designed to make a bold architectural statement while minimizing cost. Precast panels and columns, spandrels, wall panels, double tees, and beams were used to create the desired look and help minimize disruption to existing active mall operations. The integral-color mix used for the panels and other exterior components added to the overall aesthetics.
To ensure traffic flow during the busiest shopping seasons, two separate ramps were incorporated into the design. Additionally, a police substation was built into the structure, providing shoppers with a feeling of extra security and peace of mind. The Sawgrass Mills Mall Garage is an impressive and innovative structure that meets the needs of the surrounding community.
This precast project covers 637,000 square feet, with 640 pieces of precast material. It also includes 1,715 parking spaces. The precast materials used in the project include columns, spandrels, wall panels, double tees, and beams. All exterior products feature an integral-color mix for a uniform and cohesive look.
