The Children’s Hospital in Plano needed to expand their parking garage to accommodate their future growth, and Coreslab Structures was the perfect team for the job. Utilizing precast concrete, the project team was able to meet the unique design constraints of the curved site layout, creating a durable and aesthetically pleasing end product. The team began the Design Assist process in June 2021, followed by Drafting & Engineering in October 2021, Production in January 2022, and the installation of all 722 precast components was completed in March-May 2022.
In total, the project included 175,000 square feet of elevated deck area, along with Double Tees, Beams, Columns, Spandrels, Wall Panels, and Stair Risers. The end result was a safe and spacious 640-space parking garage, which could easily accommodate the hospital’s future growth. Using precast concrete enabled the project team to meet the unique design constraints of the curved site layout, while creating a product that was both durable and aesthetically pleasing.
Coreslab Structures was able to complete the project in a timely manner, from Design Assist in June 2021, through Drafting & Engineering in October 2021, Production in January 2022, and Installed in March-May 2022. The Children’s Hospital in Plano now has a parking garage that not only looks great, but is also safe and able to handle the facility’s future growth.
